How do I change from Adobe Acrobat to Preview?

To switch your default PDF viewer from Adobe Acrobat to Preview on a Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Find a PDF file: Locate any PDF file on your computer.

  2. Right-click (or Control-click) the PDF file: A context menu will appear.

  3. Select "Get Info": In the context menu, choose the "Get Info" option. This will open a new window with information about the file.

  4. Locate the "Open with" section: In the "Get Info" window, find the "Open with" section.

  5. Choose "Preview" from the dropdown menu: Click the dropdown menu currently displaying "Adobe Acrobat" (or similar) and select "Preview" from the list of applications.

  6. Click "Change All...": After selecting "Preview", click the "Change All..." button below the dropdown menu. This will prompt a confirmation dialog.

  7. Confirm the change: In the confirmation dialog, click "Continue" to apply the change to all PDF files.

Now, all PDF files will open with Preview by default.
