Circle control, as a concept, refers to the things in your life that you have the power to change or influence. It's a framework to help you focus your energy on what you can manage and let go of what you can't.

Understanding the Circle of Control

The idea is to visualize your life as a series of concentric circles.

Inner Circle: Things You Directly Control

This is where you have the most power. Examples include:

  • Your thoughts and attitudes
  • Your actions and behaviors
  • Your choices
  • Your effort
  • How you spend your time

Middle Circle: Things You Can Influence

Here, you don't have direct control, but you can still have an impact. Examples include:

  • The opinions of others

  • Your health (to some extent through lifestyle choices)

Outer Circle: Things You Can't Control

This area includes things completely outside your influence. Examples include:

  • The weather
  • The past
  • The actions of strangers
  • Global events

By concentrating on what you can control, you can:
