To select multiple photos in various Adobe applications like Lightroom or Bridge, you typically use standard keyboard shortcuts in combination with your mouse clicks. There are two primary methods: selecting a continuous range and selecting individual, non-continuous photos.
Selecting a Continuous Range of Photos
This method is useful when the photos you want to select are adjacent to each other in the grid or list view.
- Click the first image at one end of the range you wish to select.
- Hold down the
Shift
key on your keyboard. - Click the last image at the other end of the desired range.
All the photos between the first and last clicked image, including the two you clicked, will be selected. As mentioned in the reference, you click the image at one end and Shift-click the image at the other end to select a continuous range of items.
Selecting Individual, Non-Continuous Photos
This method allows you to pick and choose specific photos from anywhere in your library, even if they are not next to each other.
- Click the first image you want to select.
- Hold down the
Ctrl
key (on Windows) or theCmd
key (on macOS) on your keyboard. - While holding
Ctrl
orCmd
, click each additional photo you want to add to your selection.
Each photo you click while holding the Ctrl
/Cmd
key will be added to the selection without affecting other selected photos.
These methods are fundamental across many Adobe photo-management interfaces, providing efficient ways to select groups of images for various tasks such as editing, exporting, or organizing.
