To import brushes into Photopea, simply open the brush file, which typically has a .ABR
extension. Photopea supports this brush file format natively.
Here's a breakdown of the process:
- Open the Brush File: Go to
File > Open
in the Photopea interface and locate the.ABR
brush file on your computer. Select the file and click "Open". - Brushes are Added: Photopea will automatically add the brushes contained within the
.ABR
file to your list of available brushes. - Access Your Brushes: Select the "Brush Tool" (usually found in the toolbar on the left). In the top toolbar, you'll see a brush preview; click it to open the brush selection panel where your newly imported brushes will be available.
You can also create your own custom "pattern" brushes from existing layers:
- Select the Layer: Select the layer you want to turn into a brush.
- Define as Brush: Go to
Edit > Define New > Brush
. This will create a new brush based on the contents of that layer.
Keep in mind:
- Photopea might not support all features of every
.ABR
brush, especially if they rely on specific Photoshop features. - The size and complexity of the
.ABR
file can impact loading times. - You can manage your brushes (e.g., rename, delete) in the brush selection panel.
