How do I rotate and resize an image in Photopea?

Published in Photopea Editing 1 min read

To rotate and resize an image in Photopea, you need to use the Transform controls.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Layer: First, make sure the layer containing the image you want to rotate and resize is selected in the Layers panel.

  2. Activate Transform Controls: Press Ctrl+Alt+T (Windows) or Cmd+Option+T (Mac) to activate the Free Transform controls. Alternatively, go to Edit > Free Transform.

  3. Rotate the Image: Hover your mouse cursor outside any of the corner handles of the bounding box. The cursor will change to a curved arrow. Click and drag to rotate the image. You can also enter a specific angle of rotation in the options bar at the top.

  4. Resize the Image: Click and drag any of the corner handles of the bounding box to resize the image. Holding down the Shift key while dragging will maintain the image's aspect ratio (preventing distortion).

  5. Commit the Transformation: Press Enter or click the checkmark in the options bar at the top to apply the rotation and resizing.
