How do I change the direction of an arrow in Photoshop?

Published in Photoshop Graphics 2 mins read

To change the direction of an arrow in Photoshop, you can use the transform tool to rotate it.

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  • Select the Arrow Layer: First, ensure that the layer containing the arrow is selected in your layers panel. This makes it the active object for transformation.
  • Activate the Transform Tool: Press Ctrl+T (or Command+T on a Mac) to activate the transform tool. A bounding box will appear around your arrow. This bounding box allows you to manipulate the object's size, position, and orientation.
  • Rotate the Arrow:
    • Move your cursor outside of the bounding box. The cursor will change to a curved arrow.
    • Click and drag to rotate the arrow. This allows you to manually adjust the arrow's angle to point in your desired direction.
    • You can also input a specific rotation degree in the options bar at the top of the screen for more precise control.
  • Apply the Transformation: Once the arrow is facing the desired direction, press the Enter key (or click the checkmark icon in the options bar) to apply the transformation. This finalizes the rotation.

By using the transform tool, you can easily change the direction of an arrow to suit your project's needs.
