How do you release a clipping mask in Photoshop?

You can release a clipping mask in Photoshop using either of these two methods:

Using the Layers Panel and Alt/Option Key: Hold down the Alt key (Option key on macOS), position your cursor over the line that separates the clipped layers in the Layers panel. The cursor will change to two overlapping circles. Click. This will release the clipping mask.
Using the Layer Menu: Select a layer within the clipping mask in the Layers panel. Then, go to the Layer menu at the top of the screen, and choose Layer > Release Clipping Mask.
