-
Activate Free Transform: Press
Ctrl+T
(Windows) orCmd+T
(Mac) to activate the Free Transform mode. A bounding box will appear around your text. -
Rotate the text: Move your cursor slightly outside one of the corner handles of the bounding box. The cursor will change into a curved, double-headed arrow. Click and drag the handle to rotate the text to your desired angle.
-
Confirm the transformation: Press
Enter
(Windows) orReturn
(Mac) to apply the rotation. You can also click the checkmark icon in the options bar at the top of the screen.
Tips for Rotating Text:
-
Constrain Rotation: Hold down the
Shift
key while dragging a corner handle to rotate in 15-degree increments. This is useful for precise rotations. -
Rotate from a Specific Point: Before dragging a corner handle, move the small crosshair (the reference point) in the center of the bounding box to a different location. The text will rotate around this new reference point.
-
Precise Rotation Value: In the options bar (at the top of your screen) while in Free Transform mode, you can enter a specific rotation value in the rotation field (indicated by a curved arrow icon).
By following these steps, you can easily rotate text in Photoshop CC and achieve the desired effect for your projects.
