How do you copy and paste blending options in Photoshop?

Published in Photoshop Tutorials 2 mins read

You can easily copy and paste blending options (also known as layer styles) between layers in Photoshop using the following method:

  1. Copy the Layer Style: Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (macOS) on the layer that has the blending options you want to copy.
  2. Choose "Copy Layer Style": From the context menu, select "Copy Layer Style." This copies all the blending options (like drop shadow, inner glow, color overlay, etc.) to your clipboard.
  3. Select the Target Layer(s): Select the layer or layers where you want to apply the copied blending options. You can select multiple layers by holding down the Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (macOS) key while clicking on each layer.
  4. Paste the Layer Style: Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (macOS) on one of the selected target layers.
  5. Choose "Paste Layer Style": From the context menu, select "Paste Layer Style." The blending options from the copied layer will now be applied to the target layer(s).

This method efficiently transfers all layer styles at once, saving you time and ensuring consistency across your design. You can also use "Paste Layer Style" on multiple selected layers simultaneously.
