Can pilot see the runway?

Published in Piloting & Visibility 1 min read

Whether a pilot can see the runway depends on visibility and altitude.

According to the reference material, the pilot must have a clear view of at least 1,800 feet (about the length of six football fields) and reach a crucial decision altitude (DA) 200 feet above the runway's starting point. If these conditions are met, the pilot can see the runway.
