You can set screen time limits on your Google Pixel phone by using the built-in Digital Wellbeing feature. A common way to manage screen time is by setting app timers, which let you limit how much time you can spend in individual apps each day.
Here's how to set an app timer on your Google Pixel using the Digital Wellbeing dashboard:
- Navigate to the Digital Wellbeing & parental controls screen in your phone's settings.
- From this screen, select Dashboard.
- The Dashboard shows you how you've spent time on your device. Find the app you want to limit in the list.
- Select the Timer icon next to the desired app. This icon looks like an hourglass or stopwatch.
- Select the desired time limit option (e.g., 30 minutes, 1 hour), then select OK.
Once the timer is set for an app, that app will pause for the rest of the day when your time limit runs out.
Managing App Timers
You can easily modify or remove the app timers you've set.
- To delete a timer:
- Go back to the Digital Wellbeing & parental controls screen.
- Select Dashboard.
- Find the app with the timer you want to remove.
- Select the Timer icon next to the desired app.
- Select Delete timer.
Setting app timers is a direct way to take control of how much time you spend on specific applications, helping you build healthier digital habits on your Pixel device.
