To remove highlighting in PowerPoint 2016, follow these simple steps:

Select the highlighted text: Click and drag your mouse cursor over the text you want to remove the highlighting from.

Access the Text Highlight Color options: On the Home tab in the PowerPoint ribbon, locate the Font group. Within this group, find the Text Highlight Color button (it looks like a pen highlighting text). Click the arrow next to it.
