To move a sequence from one Premiere Pro project to another, you can import the project containing the sequence into your current project.
Here's how to do it:
-
Open your destination project: This is the Premiere Pro project where you want to move the sequence.
-
Import the source project: Go to
File > Import
. -
Browse and select the source project: Locate the Premiere Pro project file (
.prproj
) that contains the sequence you want to move. Select it and clickOpen
. -
Choose the sequence(s) to import: A dialog box will appear, displaying the contents of the source project. Select the specific sequence(s) you want to import. You can also select other assets from the project, like bins containing footage used in the sequence, if needed.
-
Click OK: The selected sequence(s) and any associated assets will be imported into your current project. They will appear in the Project panel, ready for you to use.
Alternative Method: Project Manager (For Archiving/Copying)
While the above method is ideal for simply moving sequences, the Project Manager is useful when you need to archive a project or copy it with all assets to a new location. However, it's not strictly for moving a sequence, but rather the assets associated with it.
-
Open the project that contains the sequence.
-
Go to
File > Project Manager
. -
In the Project Manager window, select the sequence you want to archive or copy.
-
Choose your desired options. You can choose to collect files and copy them to a new location, transcode media, or exclude unused clips.
-
Click
Calculate
to determine the size of the new project. -
Click
Create
to create the new project in the specified location. The new project will contain the selected sequence and associated media. You can then open this new project.
