How do you copy and paste properties in Premiere Pro?

Published in Premiere Pro Editing 2 mins read

You can copy and paste properties (also known as attributes or effects) from one clip to another in Adobe Premiere Pro. Here's how:

  1. Select the source clip: Right-click (or Ctrl-click on Mac) on the clip containing the properties you want to copy in the timeline.
  2. Copy: Choose "Copy" from the context menu (or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C / Cmd+C).
  3. Select the target clip(s): Select the clip(s) you want to paste the properties onto. You can select multiple clips at once by clicking and dragging a selection box around them, or by holding down Ctrl/Cmd and clicking each clip individually.
  4. Paste Attributes: Right-click on one of the selected target clips and choose "Paste Attributes" from the context menu.
  5. Choose specific attributes: A dialog box will appear, allowing you to choose which attributes you want to paste. This prevents you from accidentally pasting attributes you don't want. Check the boxes next to the properties you want to transfer (e.g., Motion, Opacity, Audio Effects, etc.).
  6. Click OK: Click "OK" to apply the selected properties to the target clip(s).

The chosen properties from the original clip will now be applied to the selected clip(s). This is a great way to quickly apply the same effects or settings to multiple clips within your Premiere Pro project.
