How do I change the name of a stack in Procreate?

Published in Procreate Stacks 2 mins read

Changing the name of a stack in Procreate is a straightforward process, just like renaming an artwork in your gallery.

Renaming Your Procreate Stack

By default, all newly created stacks in Procreate are named "Stack". You can easily give them a more descriptive name to help organize your artwork. The method for renaming a stack is the same as renaming an individual artwork.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Navigate to your Procreate Gallery.
  2. Locate the stack you wish to rename. Stacks appear as folders containing multiple artworks.
  3. Below the thumbnail preview of the stack, you will see its current name (likely "Stack" if you haven't renamed it before).
  4. Tap the title of the stack directly. This action will highlight the current name and bring up your device's keyboard.
  5. Use the keyboard to delete the old name and type in the new name you want for your stack.
  6. Once you've typed the desired name, tap the "Return" or "Done" key on your keyboard to confirm the change.

As mentioned in the Procreate documentation, you tap the title to show the keyboard and rename the stack, following the same method used for renaming an artwork.

This simple tap-and-type method allows you to quickly customize your gallery organization and find your projects with ease.
