How Do I Turn On the InFocus Projector?

Published in Projector Operation 2 mins read

To turn on an InFocus projector, connect the black power cord to the power connector on the side of the projector and then plug it into a working electrical outlet. This should cause the Power light on the Status Indicator Panel to turn amber.

That's the most basic step. Here's a little more detail:

  1. Power Connection: Locate the power input on the projector. It's usually a standard AC power receptacle.
  2. Power Cord: Always use the power cord that originally came with your InFocus projector. Using a different cord may not be safe or compatible.
  3. Status Indicator: Once the power cord is connected and plugged in, look for the Power light on the Status Indicator Panel. This light should illuminate, often in an amber color, indicating that the projector is receiving power.

If the Power light does not turn on, double-check the following:

  • Power Outlet: Ensure the electrical outlet you're using is functioning correctly. Test it with another device.
  • Power Cord Connection: Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into both the projector and the electrical outlet.
  • Projector Power Switch (If Applicable): Some older InFocus models may have a separate power switch in addition to the power cord connection. Make sure this switch is in the "on" position.

Once the Power light is illuminated (typically amber), you will usually need to press the Power button (often located on the projector itself or on the remote control) to fully turn the projector on. Once turned on, the Power light will typically change color (often to green or blue) to indicate it is fully operational.
