Psoriasis can start at any age, but there are two common age ranges when it's most likely to begin.
While psoriasis can appear at any age, it has two peak onset periods:
- Early adulthood: Between ages 20 and 30 years.
- Later adulthood: Between ages 50 and 60 years.
Psoriasis affects men and women equally, although it is more prevalent in non-Hispanic whites. A family history of psoriasis increases the likelihood of developing the condition. Therefore, while the typical ranges are noted above, keep in mind that psoriasis can manifest outside those ranges.
