What is Bevel Grip?

Published in Racquet Sports Grip 1 min read

The bevel grip, in racquet sports like badminton, is a grip where the racket face is rotated halfway between the forehand and backhand grip positions.

To achieve a bevel grip:

  1. Start with a backhand grip on your racket.
  2. Twist the racket in your hand until the outside edge is angled upwards at approximately 45 degrees.

This grip is often used for net shots and deceptive shots due to the increased wrist flexibility it allows. It provides a comfortable middle ground, enabling quick transitions between forehand and backhand sides of the court. Understanding and mastering the bevel grip can significantly improve your control and shot variation.
