What is diploid sperm?

Diploid sperm is a sperm cell that contains two copies of each chromosome, unlike normal sperm cells which are haploid (containing only one copy of each chromosome). While typically sperm cells are haploid, the production of diploid sperm can occur due to errors during meiosis, the process of cell division that produces gametes. This can lead to various conditions, such as triploidy, a condition where a fertilized egg has three sets of chromosomes, often resulting in miscarriage.
