How do I delete history on my Galaxy?

Published in Samsung Galaxy Tips 2 mins read

To delete your browsing history on a Samsung Galaxy device, typically using the Samsung Internet app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Samsung Internet app.
  2. Tap the Menu icon (usually represented by three horizontal lines) located at the bottom right or top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select Settings from the menu.
  4. Tap Personal browsing data.
  5. Tap Delete browsing data.
  6. Choose the types of data you want to delete (e.g., Browsing history, Cookies and site data, Cached images and files).
  7. Tap Delete data.
  8. Confirm by tapping Delete.

Alternative Method (for Chrome or other browsers):

If you are using a different browser on your Galaxy phone, such as Chrome, the steps will be slightly different:

  1. Open the Chrome app.
  2. Tap the Menu icon (three vertical dots) in the top right corner.
  3. Select History.
  4. Tap Clear browsing data...
  5. Choose the Time range (e.g., Last hour, Last 24 hours, All time).
  6. Select the types of data you want to clear (Browsing history, Cookies and site data, Cached images and files, etc.).
  7. Tap Clear data.

Important Considerations:

  • Different Browsers: The exact steps may vary slightly depending on the specific browser you are using.
  • Syncing: If you are signed in to a browser like Chrome with a Google account, your browsing history might be synced across devices. Deleting the history on your Galaxy will also delete it from other devices where you are signed in.
  • Third-Party Apps: Clearing browser history within the app will only affect that particular app. Other apps you use on your phone might also track your activity.
  • Privacy Settings: Review the privacy settings of each browser you use for further customization of data collection and deletion options.
