How do I turn off grid snap in SketchUp?

Published in SketchUp Modeling 1 min read

To disable grid snapping in SketchUp, you'll adjust the settings related to length and angle snapping. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Window menu.
  2. Select Model Info.
  3. In the Model Info dialog box, navigate to the Units section.
  4. Within the Units settings, you can disable length snapping by setting the "Length snapping" value to 0 or by unchecking any "Enable length snapping" options if they exist (depending on your SketchUp version).
  5. Similarly, disable angle snapping by adjusting or unchecking any "Angle snapping" options.

By adjusting these settings, you can precisely control the drawing and modeling process without being constrained by a grid. This allows for more freeform and accurate creation of models in SketchUp.
