What is the first-line treatment for skin allergies?

Published in Skin Allergies 1 min read

The first-line treatment for skin allergies depends on the severity and location of the allergy. For localized allergies covering less than 20% of the body, topical steroids are usually the first choice. However, for more widespread allergies affecting over 20% of the body, oral corticosteroids are recommended. If the allergic reaction involves sensitive areas like skin folds or eyelids, topical calcineurin inhibitors or PDE4 inhibitors might be considered.
