What is the thinnest part of your body?

Published in Skin Thickness 1 min read

The thinnest part of your body is the eyelids, measuring just 0.05 millimeters thick. This delicate skin is also found in the postauricular region, located behind the ear.

While the eyelids are the thinnest, skin thickness varies across the body. The palms and soles of your feet are the thickest, reaching 1.5 millimeters thick. This is due to the presence of an extra layer in the epidermis called the stratum lucidum.

Interestingly, male skin tends to be thicker than female skin in all areas.
