While nearly all human skin contains hair follicles, certain areas appear hairless due to the absence of visible hair. Glabrous skin is typically found on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, lips, and parts of the genitals.
These two types of skin are distinguished by their structural differences and functional roles. For example, hairy skin serves as a protective barrier against external elements, while glabrous skin provides a sensitive surface for tactile sensation and gripping.
