The earliest evidence of skincare practices dates back to ancient Egypt, around 6000 years ago. Egyptians used skincare to protect their skin from the harsh desert sun, sand, and insects, and to maintain a youthful and fresh appearance. They used natural ingredients like olive oil, ostrich eggs, and other readily available items.
However, there is no single person who can be credited with "starting" skincare. The concept of caring for one's skin has likely existed for as long as humans have been aware of their own physical appearance.
