You can easily turn off Audio Description on Sky Q using your remote control.

Turning off Audio Description (AD) on your Sky Q box is a simple process that can be done directly through your remote. This feature, designed to help visually impaired viewers by describing on-screen actions, can be toggled on or off instantly during viewing.

Here’s how to do it based on the type of Sky Q remote you have:

Steps to Turn Off Audio Description on Sky Q

The method depends slightly on which Sky Q remote you are using: the standard remote or the accessibility remote.

Using the Standard Sky Q Remote

  1. Press the '?' Button: Locate the question mark button on your standard Sky Q remote. It's typically situated to the right of the number zero.
  2. Access the Menu: Pressing this button will bring up a quick menu overlay on your screen.
  3. Toggle Audio Description: Use the navigation buttons on your remote to highlight the Audio Description option. Press the Select button (the central button) to toggle it Off.
  4. Dismiss the Menu: Once you've made your selection, press the Dismiss button. This button is usually found to the left of the Home button, directly below the down arrow. This will close the quick menu and return you to your program.

Using the Sky Q Accessibility Remote

  1. Press the 'AD' Button: If you have the Sky Q Accessibility remote, look for the dedicated AD button.
  2. Toggle Audio Description: Pressing the AD button acts as a direct toggle. Each press will switch Audio Description On or Off.

Using either method allows you to control the Audio Description setting quickly whenever needed while watching content on your Sky Q box.
