To select the inverse in Solidworks, effectively selecting everything except your initially selected items, follow these steps:
-
Select the item(s) you don't want selected. These are the entities you wish to exclude from the final selection.
-
Click "Invert Selection". You can do this in one of two ways:
-
Using the Selection Filter Toolbar: If the Selection Filter toolbar is visible, click the "Invert Selection" icon. This icon usually looks like a square with an inverted selection within it.
-
Using the Tools Menu: Go to
Tools > Selection > Invert Selection
.
-
After performing either of these methods, all items in the active Solidworks environment except those you initially selected will be selected. This is particularly useful when you need to select a large number of features or faces while excluding only a few.
