You can change the rotation point in Solidworks by selecting a specific vertex, edge, or face to use as the new center of rotation.
Here's how to do it:
-
Initiate Rotation: Either click Rotate View on the Heads-up View toolbar, or go to View > Modify > Rotate.
-
Select a Reference: Choose a vertex, edge, or face on your model that you want to be the new center of rotation. You can do this in two ways:
-
Click and Drag: Select a vertex, edge, or face by clicking on it directly within the graphics area before dragging the view. The point, edge or face will now be the center of the view's rotation.
-
Middle-Click and Drag: Middle-click a vertex, edge, or face, and then middle-drag the pointer. This immediately sets the selected feature as the rotation point and begins the rotation.
-
-
Rotate the View: Drag the pointer to rotate the view around the selected point, edge, or face. The model will now rotate with respect to this newly defined center.
By using this method, you can precisely control how your model rotates within the Solidworks environment, making it easier to inspect specific features and areas of your design.
