Published in Stem Cells 1 min read

ESC cells are embryonic stem cells found in the early stages of embryo development. More specifically, ESCs reside in the inner cell mass of the human blastocyst between the 4th and 7th day after fertilization. After the 7th day, they differentiate into the three primary embryonic tissue layers.

Feature Description
Definition Embryonic Stem Cell
Location Inner cell mass of the human blastocyst
Timeframe Days 4-7 post-fertilization
Fate Differentiate into the three embryonic tissue layers after day 7
Significance Play a crucial role in early embryonic development and have potential use in regenerative medicine.
