How do you stretch your legs while standing?

Published in Stretching Exercises 1 min read

You can stretch your legs while standing by performing a hip flexor stretch.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Start Standing: Stand upright with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Forward Movement: Move one hip forward, bending the opposite knee.
  3. Engage & Dig: Dig the bent knee into the floor for stability.
  4. Feel the Stretch: Push the hip forward and feel the stretch where the leg bends, targeting the hip flexor. You should feel it in the front of your hip and upper thigh.
  5. Hold: Hold the stretch for 15-30 seconds.
  6. Repeat: Switch legs and repeat the stretch on the other side.

This method focuses on stretching the hip flexors, a common area of tightness, especially for those who spend a lot of time sitting.
