What Sun to Avoid?

Published in Sun Safety 1 min read

You should avoid intense sunlight, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when it is most intense. This is because excessive sun exposure can lead to skin damage, eye problems, and even skin cancer.

Here are some ways to protect yourself from the sun:

  • Seek shade: Stay under an umbrella, tree, or other shelter.
  • Wear protective clothing: Cover up with long-sleeved shirts, pants, and a wide-brimmed hat.
  • Use sunscreen: Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher that provides both UVA and UVB protection.
  • Wear sunglasses: Choose sunglasses that block 99-100% of UVA and UVB rays.
  • Avoid tanning beds: These devices emit harmful UV rays that increase your risk of skin cancer.

Remember that even on cloudy days, the sun's harmful UV rays can penetrate the clouds and reach your skin.
