How to bypass VPN block Surfshark?

Published in Surfshark VPN 2 mins read

To bypass a VPN block while using Surfshark, you can utilize the "Bypasser" feature, which allows you to exclude specific apps and websites from using the VPN connection. This can be useful for accessing services that might block VPN traffic or for improving performance for certain applications.

Steps to Use Surfshark's Bypasser Feature:

  1. Open the Surfshark application. Locate the Surfshark app on your device and launch it.

  2. Navigate to Settings. On the left-hand side panel (or within the app's menu), find and click on "Settings".

  3. Access VPN Settings. Within the Settings menu, look for an option labeled "VPN Settings" and select it.

  4. Find and Open Bypasser. Inside the VPN Settings, you'll find the "Bypasser" feature. Click on it to configure your exceptions.

  5. Enable and Configure Bypasser. Toggle the switch to enable the Bypasser. You'll then be able to add apps and websites that you want to exclude from the VPN connection. Surfshark generally offers two bypasser options:

    • Bypass VPN: Exclude specific apps or websites from using the VPN connection. Traffic from these selected items will go directly to the internet without being routed through the VPN.
    • Route via VPN: Only route specific apps or websites through the VPN. All other traffic will use your regular internet connection.

By using the Bypasser feature, you can selectively bypass VPN blocks for certain services while maintaining VPN protection for other online activities. Remember to consider the security implications of bypassing the VPN for specific applications or websites.
