A thalassemia blood test is a set of tests used to diagnose thalassemia, a blood disorder. One such test is a complete blood count (CBC). This test measures different components of your blood, including hemoglobin levels and the quantity and size of red blood cells. People with thalassemia typically have fewer healthy red blood cells and lower than normal hemoglobin levels.
