To set up your touch keyboard in Windows, follow these simple steps:
-
Open Settings: Click the Start button, then select the Settings icon (it looks like a gear).
-
Navigate to Typing Settings: In the Settings window, click on "Time & language" and then select "Typing" from the left-hand menu.
-
Configure Touch Keyboard Options: Scroll down to the "Touch keyboard" section. Here you can control when the touch keyboard appears.
-
Choose Touch Keyboard Visibility: Use the dropdown menu next to "Show the touch keyboard" to select your preferred option:
- Always: The touch keyboard will always be available, even when a physical keyboard is connected.
- Never: The touch keyboard will never automatically appear.
- When no keyboard is attached: The touch keyboard will only appear when you're using your device in tablet mode or when a physical keyboard is not connected. This is the most common and often the most convenient setting.
By selecting one of these options, you control when the touch keyboard automatically appears. You can also manually open the touch keyboard from the taskbar (if enabled) or from the accessibility settings.
