How do I remove a Google account from Ubuntu?

Published in Ubuntu Google Account 2 mins read

Removing a Google account from your Ubuntu system is straightforward and can be done through the Online Accounts settings. Here's how:

  1. Open Online Accounts: Start by opening the Activities overview. You can do this by clicking on "Activities" in the top left corner, or by pressing the Windows key (or Super key). Type "Online Accounts" and click on the Online Accounts icon when it appears.

  2. Select the Google Account: In the Online Accounts window, you will see a list of connected accounts. Find and select the Google account that you want to remove.

  3. Remove the Account: With the Google account selected, look for the "–" (minus) button, usually located in the lower-left corner of the window. Click this button.

  4. Confirm Removal: A confirmation dialog box will appear asking if you are sure you want to remove the account. Click "Remove" to confirm. The Google account will then be removed from your Ubuntu system.

That's it! Your Google account is now removed from Ubuntu. You will no longer be automatically signed in to Google services through Ubuntu's integrated applications.
