What is the new UC drug?

Published in UC Medications 2 mins read

Mirikizumab is a recently FDA-approved drug for treating ulcerative colitis (UC). It's shown efficacy not only in UC but also in Crohn's disease, another inflammatory bowel disease. Other newer treatments for UC include etrasimod and risankizumab (Skyrizi), also approved by the FDA for moderate to severe UC. Guselkumab (Tremfya), while not specifically developed for UC, shows promise in treating the condition by targeting a key inflammatory cytokine. These are just some of the newer medications being used or studied to treat ulcerative colitis.
