  • Calcitriol (Vitamin D3): The kidneys convert an inactive form of vitamin D into its active form, calcitriol. Calcitriol is essential for calcium absorption in the intestines, maintaining bone health, and regulating calcium levels in the blood.

Renin converts angiotensinogen to angiotensin I, which is further converted to angiotensin II. Angiotensin II causes blood vessel constriction (increasing blood pressure) and stimulates the release of aldosterone from the adrenal glands.
