Is evening sun strong?

Published in UV Radiation 1 min read

The evening sun is less strong than the sun at midday. UV radiation is usually strongest for a few hours around noon and less strong during the early morning and the late afternoon/evening.

This is because the sun's rays have to travel through more of the Earth's atmosphere in the evening, which filters out some of the UV radiation. However, it is still important to protect your skin from the sun's rays, even in the evening, by wearing sunscreen and protective clothing.
