Step-by-Step Guide to Cleaning

Follow these steps to access and clean the brush area of your vacuum:

  1. Lift off the Brush Cover: Begin by carefully lifting off the brush cover from the vacuum's base. This cover is typically secured with screws.
  2. Remove the Floor Brush: Once the cover is removed, grasp the floor brush at both ends and lift it out of its housing. This allows you to inspect the brush and the area underneath.
  3. Check the Hose for Clogs: While the brush is out, it's a good time to check for obstructions in the airflow path. Separate the hose from the hose wand base to look through the hose for any clogs.
  4. Clear Away Debris: You may need to remove debris from this area as well. This includes any tangled hair, string, or trapped particles around where the brush sits or in the hose connection point. Removing this debris improves suction and prevents future clogs.
  5. Replace the Brush and Cover: After clearing debris and inspecting the hose, place the brush back into its correct position. Finally, replace the brush cover and 5 screws using a Philips screw driver to secure it back onto the vacuum base.

Note: Once the brush is removed (as described in step 2), you can manually clean the brush roll itself by removing tangled hair and debris before replacing it. The steps above provide the necessary access as outlined in the maintenance procedure.

Regularly performing this maintenance helps keep your Bissell PowerForce vacuum running smoothly and effectively, ensuring thorough cleaning on your floors.
