How do you rotate an object in Premiere Pro?

Published in Video Editing 1 min read

To rotate an object (specifically a video clip) in Adobe Premiere Pro, you'll use the Effects Controls panel. Here's how:

  1. Select the Clip: On the Premiere Pro timeline, click to select the video clip you want to rotate.

  2. Access Effects Controls: Go to the "Effects Controls" panel. If you don't see it, go to "Window" in the main menu and select "Effects Controls."

  3. Locate the Motion Section: In the Effects Controls panel, find the "Motion" section. You might need to expand it by clicking the small arrow next to "Motion."

  4. Adjust the Rotation: In the Motion section, you'll see a property called "Rotation." Click and drag on the number next to "Rotation" to change the clip's rotation. You can also manually enter a numerical value (in degrees) into the box. Positive values will rotate the clip clockwise, and negative values will rotate it counterclockwise.

In summary, select the clip, go to Effects Controls > Motion > Rotation, and adjust the numerical value.
