How Do I Get to Goron City, BotW?

Published in Video Game Navigation 2 mins read

To get to Goron City in Breath of the Wild, you need to travel through the Maw of Death Mountain region. Here's the most straightforward route:

  • Start Point: Lanayru Tower or Inogo Bridge (if you have the Soh Kofi Shrine travel point)

  • Direction: Head north from either location. The path to Goron City leads directly through the Eldin region, which is the area surrounding Death Mountain.

  • The Road: Follow the main road heading north. This road is the safest and easiest way to navigate the terrain and avoid getting lost.

  • Heat Resistance: The region around Death Mountain is extremely hot. You will need heat resistance to survive. This can be achieved in several ways:

    • Flamebreaker Armor: The most reliable method is to acquire the Flamebreaker Armor. You can purchase this armor in Goron City itself, but you'll need a temporary solution to reach the city. A piece of the Flamebreaker armor is given after completing a quest in the Southern Mine.

    • Elixirs: Craft or purchase elixirs that provide heat resistance. Look for ingredients like "Cool Safflina" or "Icy Lizalfos Tail" to create these elixirs. The NPC at the stable closest to the volcano sells fireproof elixirs.

    • Food: Some food recipes will also grant heat resistance.

  • Hazards: Be aware of the enemies and environmental hazards along the way, such as falling rocks and Magma Cubes.

  • Continue North: Keep following the road north, navigating around Death Mountain's base. The road will eventually lead you directly into Goron City.
