To mount a VHD (Virtual Hard Disk) file in Windows, follow these steps using Disk Management:
-
Open Disk Management: In the search box on the taskbar, type "Computer Management" and select Disk Management from the results. This opens the Disk Management utility, which is where you will perform the mount.
-
Attach VHD: In Disk Management, go to the Action menu and select Attach VHD.
-
Browse for VHD File: In the "Attach Virtual Hard Disk" dialog box that appears, click the Browse button to locate your
.vhd
file. -
Select the VHD: Find and select the specific
.vhd
file you want to mount, and click OK.
Once you've completed these steps, the VHD file will be mounted as a new drive in your system. You can then access the files and folders within the VHD as you would with any other drive.
