How Do I Sync Firefox with Edge?

Published in Web Browsers 2 mins read

To import data from Firefox into Microsoft Edge, effectively "syncing" information like bookmarks, browsing history, and saved passwords, follow these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge: Launch the Edge browser on your computer.

  2. Access Settings: Click on the three horizontal dots (ellipsis) in the top-right corner of the Edge window to open the menu. Then, select "Settings."

  3. Find Import Browser Data: In the Settings menu, navigate to "Profiles" and then "Import browser data". Alternatively, you might find a direct "Import browser data" option.

  4. Choose "Import": Click the "Import" button next to "Import browser data".

  5. Select "Mozilla Firefox": In the "Import from" dropdown menu, choose "Mozilla Firefox".

  6. Choose a Profile (If Applicable): If you have multiple Firefox profiles, select the one you want to import from.

  7. Choose Data to Import: A list of data types available for import (e.g., Bookmarks, History, Saved passwords, Cookies) will appear. Click the "+" button to the right of the Firefox profile to expand the list and select the specific data you wish to import.

  8. Initiate Import: Click the "Import" button at the bottom.

  9. Completion: Edge will then import the selected data from Firefox. You'll receive a confirmation message once the import is complete (e.g., "All set!").

This process allows you to bring your important browsing data from Firefox into Microsoft Edge. Note that this is a one-time import; changes made in Firefox after the import will not automatically reflect in Edge. You would need to repeat the process to import any new data.
