How do I turn off the time update on Windows 10?

Published in Windows 10 Time Settings 1 min read

To disable automatic time synchronization on Windows 10, follow these steps:

  1. Open Control Panel: The easiest way is to search for "Control Panel" in the Windows search bar.

  2. Navigate to Date and Time: Click on "Date and Time." You may need to change the "View by" option in the upper-right corner to "Category" to see this option.

  3. Access the Internet Time Tab: In the Date and Time window, click on the "Internet Time" tab.

  4. Change Settings: Click the "Change settings..." button. You may need administrator privileges to proceed.

  5. Disable Synchronization: Uncheck the box labeled "Synchronize with an Internet time server."

  6. Save Changes: Click "OK" to save the changes to the Internet Time settings.

  7. Close Dialogs: Click "OK" to close the Date and Time dialog box and close the Control Panel.

Now, your Windows 10 system will no longer automatically update its time from an internet time server. You'll need to manually set the time if it drifts.
