How do I change from tablet mode to keyboard mode?

Published in Windows Operating System 1 min read

To switch from tablet mode to keyboard mode (or vice-versa) on a Windows device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Action Center: Press the Windows key + A simultaneously. This action will launch the Action Center on the right side of your screen.

  2. Locate the Tablet Mode Tile: Within the Action Center, look for a tile labeled "Tablet Mode." If it's highlighted (usually blue), tablet mode is currently enabled.

  3. Toggle Tablet Mode: Click the "Tablet Mode" tile. This will toggle the setting. If tablet mode was on, clicking the tile will turn it off, switching you back to keyboard/desktop mode. Conversely, if it was off, clicking it will enable tablet mode.

Essentially, you are manually turning tablet mode on or off using the Action Center. When tablet mode is off, your device will behave as a traditional computer with a keyboard and mouse interface.
