Published in Windows Sandbox Usage 2 mins read

You can open Windows Sandbox by first enabling it through the Windows Features settings.

Enabling Windows Sandbox

To enable Windows Sandbox, follow these steps:

  1. Access Windows Features: Use the search bar on the taskbar and type "Turn Windows Features on or off." This will open the Windows Optional Features tool.
  2. Select Windows Sandbox: In the list, find and select "Windows Sandbox".
  3. Confirm Selection: Click "OK" to confirm your choice.
  4. Restart: You may be prompted to restart your computer. If so, restart to complete the enabling process.

Note: If the "Windows Sandbox" option is not available, this means your computer does not meet the system requirements to run Windows Sandbox.

Launching Windows Sandbox

Once Windows Sandbox is enabled and your computer has restarted (if necessary), you can launch it like any other program:

  1. Search: Use the search bar on the taskbar again and type "Windows Sandbox".
  2. Launch: Click on "Windows Sandbox" to launch the application.

Windows Sandbox will now open, providing you with an isolated environment to safely test software and visit web pages.

Key Points

  • Windows Sandbox provides a secure, temporary environment for running applications.
  • Enabling Windows Sandbox requires a restart in some cases.
  • If Windows Sandbox is not an option, your system may not be compatible.
