To add images to your WordPress posts or pages, follow these simple steps:

Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard. This is typically done by adding
/wp-admin
to the end of your website's URL (e.g.,www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin

Create a new post/page or open an existing one. Navigate to "Posts" or "Pages" in the left-hand menu and either click "Add New" or select an existing post/page to edit.

Position your cursor. Place your cursor in the content area where you want the image to appear.

Click the "Add Media" button. This button is usually located above the formatting toolbar in the editor.

Upload or select your image.
- Upload: Click the "Upload Files" tab. You can then either drag and drop your image file into the designated area, or click the "Select Files" button to browse your computer.
- Select Existing: If the image is already in your Media Library, click the "Media Library" tab and choose the image you want to use.

Set Image Details. Once your image is selected, you'll see options on the right-hand side to:
- Caption: Add a brief description that will appear below the image (optional).
- Alt Text: Enter descriptive alternative text for accessibility and SEO. This is very important for screen readers and search engines. Describe the image concisely.
- Title: The image's title (often pre-populated from the filename).
- Description: A more detailed description (optional).
- Attachment Display Settings:
- Alignment: Choose how the image aligns within the text (left, center, right, or none).
- Link to: Decide where the image will link to when clicked (Media File, Attachment Page, Custom URL, or None). Linking to the Media File will display the image in its full size.
- Size: Select the image size (Thumbnail, Medium, Large, Full Size, or custom sizes, depending on the image).

Click "Insert into Post/Page". This will insert the image into your content at the cursor's location.

Preview and Adjust. Preview your post or page to see how the image looks. You can edit the image's position and size directly in the editor. Click on the image to reveal resizing handles and editing options.
