Published in Zoom Audio Settings 2 mins read

Checking your audio settings on Zoom is a straightforward process within the desktop client, allowing you to configure and test your speaker and microphone before or during a meeting.

To check your audio settings in the Zoom desktop client, you need to access the application's Settings menu, specifically the Audio tab.

Accessing Your Zoom Audio Settings

You can find all your audio configurations, including speaker and microphone options, volume adjustments, and testing tools, by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client on your computer.
  2. Locate your profile picture in the top-right corner of the window and click on it.
  3. From the dropdown menu that appears, select Settings.
  4. In the Settings window that opens, click on the Audio tab in the left-hand menu.

Once you are on the Audio tab, you will see various options to manage your speaker and microphone devices and settings.

Testing Your Speaker

A crucial part of checking your audio is ensuring your speaker is working correctly. The Zoom audio settings provide a built-in test for this:

  • In the Speaker section of the Audio tab, you will find the Test Speaker button.
  • Click Test Speaker to play a test tone. This allows you to verify that you can hear audio through your selected speaker device and that the volume is set appropriately.

This tab is also where you can select different speaker devices if you have multiple options connected to your computer. By navigating to the Audio tab, you gain full control over your Zoom audio setup.
