To turn off the mirroring (or flipping) effect of your camera in Zoom, you need to adjust a setting within the Zoom video options. The default setting in Zoom causes your video to appear mirrored to you, but unmirrored to other participants. Here's how to disable that:
-
Access Video Settings: During a Zoom meeting or before one starts, access your settings. Usually, there is a settings "gear" icon or a menu where you can find "Settings." Once there, look for "Video" settings.
-
Uncheck "Mirror my video": Inside the "Video" settings, find the option that says "Mirror my video" (or something similarly worded). Uncheck the box next to it.
Now, the video preview you see should no longer be mirrored. This means if you hold up text, it will appear correctly to you, although it might appear mirrored to other participants. The important thing is that it will appear correctly to you.
